Vinyl Album Bowls

Vinyl Album Bowls:

I have seen the records melted and shaped into bowls, so I thought I would try it. I put a bowl in the oven and set a record on top at 350'. As soon as they started to melt, and droop, I took them out of the oven and shaped them over the top of another bowl.  They are very hot to handle, but it is too hard to use gloves with them. I let one melt a little too long and it stuck to the bowl in the oven....not good!

Anyhow...this is how they cam out:

Small Bowls (Great for jewelry or other nicknacks.)

My favorite. I painted a silver edge on it before I melted it. The album has a strange texture to it, but I think it was thicker to start with.

Large Bowls: Good for odds and ends.
