Album Ceiling

Ashlin and I had to figure out what to do in her new room for a ceiling. We were trying to be economical and weren't sure the direction to take. It was going to be a few hundred dollars to put up new drywall or square tiles that we could staple up.

We were browsing in a thrift store one day and saw a bunch of music albums. We started discussing using the covers to cover the ceiling. Several of the covers had nice backs too. We ended up purchasing enough albums for about $90 to cover the entire ceiling. The 2 cans of adhesive were an additional $12 dollars at Walmart. I thought I would only need one, but had to go back for another. We sprayed them, stuck them to the ceiling and then went around with the stapler to make sure they would remain where we put them.

This was a 2 day project as it was very tiring for our arms. However, we love the results. Check it out...

Over the door...where the wall turns in. Can't tell you how many times I re-cut those triangular pieces.

This little nook is over the vanity!

Over the windows.

Over the bed!

The corner we started in!
We still have to put the molding up, but it is probably going to be another month before we get to that project.

Note: I painted the walls a few days ago over paneling and  a friend came in shortly after that and installed the new carpet in an hour.
