Delta Zeta Sorority Stuffed Plush Toy Turtle

This is what I included in my Etsy shop for my Custom turtle order. The ability to order these will go live October 13 per the buyers request as she doesn't want her little to find out about it.

Delta Zeta Sorority Stuffed Toy Turtle Perfect Gift  for a Pledge... Little or Big.

No two turtles are alike unless you want me to make a batch of them that way. Each turtle is made with 3-5 different patterned fabric scraps. They are stuffed and blind stitched closed. I will include Pink and Green for the sorority and the Greek Letters will be hand stitched in a matching Pink and Green DMC Floss.

I will randomly select the patterns and additional colors unless you specifically ask for something special. I will try to accommodate all requests.

Please message me on delivery date as I will be making these special turtles after they are purchased as they can be custom ordered. If you have a specific date and quantity in mind I will let you know if I can meet your need. Otherwise, I can get 2-3 of them in the mail to you within 5 days of the order. For Quantities of 5 or more, I will refund part of the shipping cost to you after mailing if there was excess shipping paid.

If you are not with the sorority and would like a turtle without the lettering, you can find it in my shop.

Our Fire Department has a racing team named the "Turtles." (These turtles are definitely slower than the Louisville Racing Turtles...Check out the Firemen Races in NY.)

Fur Coat Bears

I found these 2 little faux  fur coats at a flea market about a month ago and decided they would make the perfect stuffed animals. The light brown shaggy coat seemed to be perfect for a puppy. The other coat was a dark chocolate or black mid thigh length and was luxurious to the touch.

I found a Simplicity pattern I liked at Joanne Fabrics and cut out the pattern pieces from the coats while making sure to keep the fur direction going the correct way. Not easy to cut!

The fabric is even harder to sew on the machine, but I did it. I learned on the second one to remember to tuck the hair in as I stitched so I wouldn't spend so long picking hair out of the seem after turning it.

I hand-stitched the animals closed after filling them with wool stuffing. I embroidered noses on both and added button eyes. I found a tie in the lining of the black coat that I used as a tie for the bear. I had a pretty ribbon from Stampin' Up that made the perfect tie for the puppy.

Stuffed Turtles

I don't remember where I found this cute pattern, but I like turtles. (These turtles are definitely slower than the Louisville Racing Turtles...Firemen Races in NY.) I made 19 of them in the past 2 days. No two are alike.

I cut out the pattern pieces...this always seems to be the most daunting task. Next, I stitched all the heads and legs and turned them right side out. Then came the stuffing of the legs head and tail. That tail is TINY when you are trying to stuff it. The neck and tail were stitched into the shell next. Then the feet were pinned to the bottom and the bottom stitched to the shell. The whole thing was turned right side out, stuffed and stitched closed. Start to finish took about an hour for each one. I assembly lined though, so this is only an estimate.

I'll add the link to the pattern if I can find it again.    I found the Link!!! Here it is:Stuffed Fabric Turtle

Enjoy!
