Forever Wild Horses/ Chevaux Cross Stitch Sampler

Forever Wild "Horses/ Chevaux" Cross Stitch Sampler

This is a 5"x7" (9"x11" with a mat board) finished size cross stitch. It's unframed and I'm adding it to my Etsy site for sale. It is 14 count and stitched in a blue Aida fabric. This is a Janlynn Forever Wild Pattern in a series created by Roger W. Reinardy. There is so much detail to the horses. There are a total of 20 different shades of golden browns and blues in this sampler. The entire space is almost completely stitched.

I love the spirit horse and the sense of freedom shown in this picture.

"Fluttering Butterflies/ Les Papillons Voletant"

"Fluttering Butterflies/ Les Papillons Voletant"

This little embroidery artwork is of butterflies fluttering around fuchsia daisies. This is stitched on a 14 count white Aida fabric. I'm not sure the designer as I found the pattern at a garage sale and it did not list a designer. It looks like the same designer as the birds patterns.

It will fit in a 5"x7" frame without a mat or in a 9"x11" frame with a mat.

"Safe Harbor/ Le Phare" Lighthouse Cross Stitch Embroidered Picture

"Safe Harbor/ Le Phare" Lighthouse Cross Stitch Embroidered Picture

This little embroidery artwork is of a Lighthouse sitting near the sea. This is stitched on a 14 count white Aida fabric. It has many Full Cross Stitches and Half Cross Stitches to allow for a shadowed dawn effect. The French Knots are in green and yellow to add subtle flowers to the design.

It will fit in a 5"x7" frame without a mat or in a 9"x11" frame with a mat.

I'm not sure where the kit came from, but it was one difficult and hard to read pattern. The pattern was mainly in English and French and the picture did not always match up with the pattern key with regards to color nor design.

Bird Watching Cross Stitch

I just finished 2 little 5x7 cross stitch samplers today. They are a Bucilla pattern I found at a garage sale. One of them is of an Eastern Bluebird with a nest of two young birds. The other is of a Painted Bunting sitting on a flowered branch with a bee. They are stitched on white 14 count Aida fabric.

I'll be selling them unmounted for now, so they should be mounted in a 5x7 frame without a mat or 9x11 with a mat.

Spring Flowers Sampler (not framed)

This is a "Designs for the Needle" pattern entitled, "Grandchildren". I chose not to use the grandchildren theme and changed it slightly to be spring flower bulbs. I looked up the bulb types and included their names in the design.

It is stitched on 14 Count Fiddler's Cloth. It should be framed 9" x 12" without the mat and 13" x 16" with a mat. The flowers included in this sampler are two types of crocus, tulip, iris, daffodil (aka jonquil) and a lily.

It took 3 full days to make and is now on Etsy for sale. https://www.etsy.com/listing/160541518/spring-flowers-not-framed?

"Protect the Beautiful Places" Alphabet and Nature Embroidered Sampler

  "Protect the Beautiful Places"

This "Protect the Beautiful Places" Alphabet and Nature Embroidered Sampler is a finished Bucilla Stamped Cross Stitch Kit. It was designed by Nancy Rossi and Copyrighted in 1990. I bought this kit I don't know how many years ago at Ames and just got around to completing it this week.

This sampler is embroidered and cross stitched on printed white sailcloth. It has been washed to remove the printing, so all that is left is the stitching. The words on it are, "Let us protect the Beautiful Places." It has fish, flowers, trees, coral, Orca, Panda, Ducks and Geese in the pattern surrounding a forest scene. There are 9 numbers cross stitched on it and a full alphabet embroidered on the sampler.

Without a mat, the frame should measure: 11" by 14". With a mat, the frame should be 15" by 18".  That is....when I get around to making a frame for it.

I remembered to sign it, but not a lot of areas available.

Americana Victorian Houses Sampler (not framed)

This was made from a Bucilla kit. It was stitched on White 14 count Aida fabric. It should be Horizontally framed eventually as 15" x 7.75" without a mat or 19" x 11.75" with a mat.

These 3 houses are in a Victorian style that reminds me of the colonial style houses I saw in the southern United States. I was originally thinking of houses in Maine, but having been in Savannah, Georgia a couple years ago...they now remind me more of that area...especially with the fencing.

Each house is full of ornamentation including an American Flag. Each house has a unique wrought iron style fence. Did you know in America the wrought iron fencing was a sign of affluence and wealth. Juliette Gordon Lowe made her own Wrought iron gate and took it with her when her husband divorced her. You can see it at her house in Savannah. This sampler is filled with numerous flowers made from french knots. This is my least favorite of the stitches. My mother will tell you I complain of French knots all the time. My thread gets twisted and knotted sometimes when making them, then I have to rip out a portion of work and redo it. I don't think I have ever done a piece with this many french knots....just look at the flowers, fencing, and shade pulls.

The Backside

Wrought iron fence styles.

Even a flag adorns one of the houses.

So MANY French Knots.

Wrought iron detailed gate and window pulls for the shades.

Hanging plant and lattice work under the porch.

I forgot to add a signature and had to go back and add one yesterday. Not many places to add it.

Alphabet and Flower Sampler Picture

This pattern I believe is from a Bucilla Kit. It is stitched on a Linen type of cloth. I stitched it a couple year ago and found it in the back of a closet with supplies. I always felt bad I didn't give this to my grandfather as he loved it, but my grandmother kept saying they had no wall space left. It has never been hung.

It is already matted and framed. The framed finished size is 17x23 inches. The sampler size unframed would be 11 3/4 x 17 3/4 inches. I framed it myself and added a backing to keep the dust out. My nana taught me how. Someday, I'll add a "how to" on here for it.
