Drawing: Shroomy

My science teacher, Mrs. Theobald, inspired me to draw this. One day during class (in the kingdom Plantae) someone blurted out a witty comment and got the response "It's not like mushrooms grow legs and walk away." After that, during study hall (right after science), I started drawing a mushroom (I was going to draw limbs and a face but fortunately the bell rang for art).

Friendship Bears Cross Stitch

I started this January 6th and finished it today. It is a kit from Bucilla entitled, Friendship Bears. It is stitched on a 14 count Antique White Aida cloth. It should be framed with a 16" x 10" frame or 20" x 14" if matted. I again will decide the mat and frame issue when I get around to it. I have the mat board, but it is too cold in the garage to get it and cut it to size.

This pattern is actually a repeat for me. I completed this kit for my Godmother, Pam, when I was a teenager. She was and is NUTS about bears. I bought 2 kits at the time as I liked it so much and am only now getting around to completing it.

Knit Pot Holders/ Dish Clothes-- Style 2

I found this pattern at: http://www.ravelry.com  This site has many knit and crochet patterns for free as well as for sale!

Materials: 1 Ball Peaches & Creme Cotton Yarn, Size 4.5 mm knitting needles (I used size 6.)
Directions:
Step 1: Cast on 42 stitches (or a multiple of 18 plus 6)
Step 2: Knit 3 rows of garter stitch for the border
Step 3:
               Row 4: Knit
               Row 5: Knit 3, Pearl to last 3 stitches, Knit 3
               Row 6: Knit 3, [Knit 2 Together (3 Times), Yorn Over and Knit 1 (6 Times)] Repeat these 2 steps until the final 3 stitches, Knit 3
               Row 7: Knit entire Row (It was suggested to Pearl this row, so I did)
Step 4: Repeat Rows 4-7 until it is the desired length.
Step 5: Knit 3 rows of garter stitch to make the bottom border.
Step 6: Cast off and darn in ends.

 I have no idea why I was inspired to draw this, but one day during study hall (which happened to be right before art) I opened my sketch book (which I always carry) and after sitting there for ten minutes drew this.

Peacock Feather Box-- My First Project

Tom sent Ashlin a Peacock Feather from Florida and we wanted to do something to save it with the story and protect it from our kittens, so we decided to make a memory box for the feather. Instead of making the box, I found one at Michael's at a super price. Couldn't make it for the price!!! I also found some really pretty papers as well as a cute charm at  Michael's.
I mounted the papers in the box and used my Stampin' Up Border Punch and Markers to make a journal to copy the story Tom had sent with the feather.
