Northwoods Santas

"Northwoods Santa" Embroidered Artwork Home Decor Wall Hanging

Includes:
Woodland Santa - A Fisherman with a fox.
Nordic Santa - Friends with deer and carries a pine tree
Arctic Santa - Friends with penguin and polar bear

This was originally a kit from Astor Place Heirloom Santas Entitled: Northwoods Santas published by Willmaur Crafts Corp. It is embroidery floss stitched on Perforated paper which is a card stock or heavier weight paper with a counted cross stitch grid of wholes. I've never used this type of foundation before. It takes longer than fabric as it uses a stab or stick method of stitching. You can't pull it through two wholes at once.

Each Santa is carefully trimmed out, mounted on Stampin' Up Black cardstock and inserted into a 4" x 6" opening in an 11" x 22" frame. The frame is black and each opening is bordered by a metal copper lace trim that was painted brown to antique it. The frame has two openings on the back to hang it on the wall.

Trimming the Artic Santa: I found it easier to use an exacto knife. (Yes, I know mine is a little rusted, but the blade is still super sharp.)

Country Fresh

Kitchen Vegetable Canning "Country Fresh" Cross Stitch Embroidery Sampler

This sampler was made from a kit from Bucilla entitled "Country Fresh". It is stitched on size 14 count 100% cotton tan Aida Cloth. It was stitched with DMC Floss.

This sampler is filled with fresh food straight from the farm. It has eggs, corn, tomatoes, pumpkin, squash, carrots and peppers. There are a couple Ball canning jars and a coffee pot. This would be a perfect wall decor for a country kitchen.

It will fit in a 4 1/2" x 13" frame without a mat or in a 8 1/2" x 17" frame with a mat.

Cross Stitch Embroidered "Playful Pals" Stamped Cross Stitch Sampler Picture (Not Framed)

Cross Stitch Embroidered "Playful Pals" Stamped Cross Stitch Sampler Picture (Not Framed)
Puppy and Kitten play with Knitting

Funny info: I started this a couple years ago and lost it. Before Christmas I was doing a little spring cleaning and found it behind the dresser. No clue how it got there. So... I finished it.

This little embroidery artwork portrays a puppy and kitten entangled in someones yarn knitting project. It looks like an adorable golden retriever puppy and a fluffy white kitten. It is surrounded by a pink and blue border containing what looks to be pink tulips. The animals are playing on what appears to be knitted sampler squares.

This is a Bucilla stamped cross stitch pattern entitled "Playful Pals." The original design was by Linda Gillum." It was stitched using cotton thread on printed white sailcloth fabric. It has been washed and ironed.

It will fit in a 16"x8" frame without a mat or in a 20"x12" frame with a mat.

Cross Stitch, Embroidered and Quilted Wall Hanging entitled "The Christmas House"

Cross Stitch, Embroidered and Quilted Wall Hanging entitled

"The Christmas House"

This finished wall hanging measures 11" wide by 13.5" tall.

This wall hanging was originated from a counted cross stitch pattern by Bucilla entitled "Christmas House" and designed by Jorja Hernandez. It was stitched on 14 count White Aida Cloth. It came with a frame to mount it in, but I didn't like the wood for this stitchery, so I decided to quilt it.

I used Green Double Fold Bias tape to frame in the house and a lighter shade green to bind the quilt. I added some red fabric and Christmas Card themed fabric as well. The house frame is machine stitched with trees and... you choose if the other pattern is flowered or snow flake. (I kind of liked the snowflake idea myself.)

I finished the piece by adding some Pearled Christmas Bows and Flowers. It has a small circular piece on the reverse side to hang throughout the holiday season.

Forever Wild Horses/ Chevaux Cross Stitch Sampler

Forever Wild "Horses/ Chevaux" Cross Stitch Sampler

This is a 5"x7" (9"x11" with a mat board) finished size cross stitch. It's unframed and I'm adding it to my Etsy site for sale. It is 14 count and stitched in a blue Aida fabric. This is a Janlynn Forever Wild Pattern in a series created by Roger W. Reinardy. There is so much detail to the horses. There are a total of 20 different shades of golden browns and blues in this sampler. The entire space is almost completely stitched.

I love the spirit horse and the sense of freedom shown in this picture.

"Fluttering Butterflies/ Les Papillons Voletant"

"Fluttering Butterflies/ Les Papillons Voletant"

This little embroidery artwork is of butterflies fluttering around fuchsia daisies. This is stitched on a 14 count white Aida fabric. I'm not sure the designer as I found the pattern at a garage sale and it did not list a designer. It looks like the same designer as the birds patterns.

It will fit in a 5"x7" frame without a mat or in a 9"x11" frame with a mat.

"Safe Harbor/ Le Phare" Lighthouse Cross Stitch Embroidered Picture

"Safe Harbor/ Le Phare" Lighthouse Cross Stitch Embroidered Picture

This little embroidery artwork is of a Lighthouse sitting near the sea. This is stitched on a 14 count white Aida fabric. It has many Full Cross Stitches and Half Cross Stitches to allow for a shadowed dawn effect. The French Knots are in green and yellow to add subtle flowers to the design.

It will fit in a 5"x7" frame without a mat or in a 9"x11" frame with a mat.

I'm not sure where the kit came from, but it was one difficult and hard to read pattern. The pattern was mainly in English and French and the picture did not always match up with the pattern key with regards to color nor design.
