My mom has been on me for a while to design and paint a wine glass for her so I finally drew one. Not sure if I'll paint a real one or if I'll use the vine part of the design but i guess we'll find out sometime.

A weekly art/craft project by Ashlin, Sarah or Both. We wanted to challenge ourselves to be creative and try to expand our skills. We'd love to have some feedback and suggestions for improvement, so please leave a comment when you visit. Thanks! A few posts will be Tom's handy work, but Ashlin or I will be writing it up for him as he doesn't like to write.

5 Hook Display of 45 Album
I finished another project for Ashlin's room today. I wanted to have hooks for hats, belts, purses... etc. I cut a board the length I wanted and sanded it, filled the holes in 45 records with shiny silver card stock, and mounted the records to the board using old coat hooks that were in the garage. We're going to wait until the room is painted to decide just where to mount it.

Update: 4/8/13
The hooks are now in place right over her vanity! (I still need to build the shelves over the vanity.)

Vinyl Clock
Ashlin's room is in the process of being renovated. When it is done, it is going to have a music theme with a black and white color scheme. I was browsing through different sites and found one that had vinyl records that were utilized in numerous ways. I decided to try a clock as I had the pieces to make one. I wasn't sure how to get the center of the 45 record to fit the clock mechanism, but I started looking around and playing with different items until I found a CD I hadn't put away. Voila....idea!
I used a clock mechanism and letters I found at Hobby Lobby, a 45 record, a CD (backwards), and some Stampin' Up Crystal Effects to glue things together. I think it came out nicely.

Summer Countryside--- Counted Cross Stitch Sampler
This sampler took a little while to finish as it is completely filled in with color. This was made from a Bucilla kit called "Summer Countryside". It was
stitched on White 14 count Aida fabric. It should be framed eventually
as 16" x 7" without a mat or 20" x 11" with a mat.
