A weekly art/craft project by Ashlin, Sarah or Both. We wanted to challenge ourselves to be creative and try to expand our skills. We'd love to have some feedback and suggestions for improvement, so please leave a comment when you visit. Thanks! A few posts will be Tom's handy work, but Ashlin or I will be writing it up for him as he doesn't like to write.

Jewelry Cabinet #3: Clock Front
Last weekend, Tom and I stopped at a garage sale and found this clock. I decided it would be a great jewelry cabinet. I figured the lower picture frame could be filled with a family photo or left lone.
The Clock measures 20 1\4" tall by 11" wide. The dark walnut stain was the closest I could come to matching the front color. It's a little darker, but still looks good.
The top shelf has 10 jewelry hooks and measures 13" tall. The bottom shelf has 10 hooks as well and measures 5 1/4" tall. There are 2 brass earring dowels behind the clock that measure 8 1/8" wide. There is a blue velvet backing inside the box.

Cabinet: Oil Painting--Hunter
This Oil Painting we found at a garage sale of an ex-antique dealer. I thought it stunning craftsmanship. The painting must have had slight water damage on the back at sometime, but does not affect the front at all. The frame is natural to the painting. The painting is unsigned.
Tom made a cabinet box to attach the the painting for storage. He stained the box a Dark Walnut. There are 2 non-adjustable shelves and a green velvet lining on the inside back.
Measurements:
Frame: 24" Wide by 28 1/2" Tall
Box: 21" Wide by 24 1/2" Tall
Shelf Height:
- Top 6 1/2"
- Middle 6 3/8"
- Bottom 9"
Slight water damage to the back, but not the front.
Closed with a simple hook and eye latch
2 non-adjustable shelves
Silver hinges this time.

Tom's KeyBox #1 Corvette
I found this picture at a garage sale and thought it would make a great Key Box. Tom agreed. I left it framed as it was and Tom made a box to go behind it. I stained it the Ipswich Pine color to match. Tom thought using some cork board in it would make a nice backing so notes and other items could be posted. It has 8 hooks for keys. 4 on each shelf. It has a 2" Shelf depth and measures 11 1/4" Tall by 13 1/4" Wide. The shelf height is 4 3/4" and 4 1/2" respectively.
The corvettes, I am told, are multi-year models.

Large Vinyl Album Single Wall Hooks
I like the multi-record album hooks I've made, but not everyone has space for a larger rack, so I made a few single hooks with my remaining hardware. I really like them.
Hook 1: London Album with Silver Hook Double Hook
Hook 3: Midnight Serenade with a Silver Hook.
Hook 4: Big Country Album with a Double Brass Hook.
Hook 5: Genesis Album with an Older Double Brass Hook

New Multi Record (45's) Racks
I liked the Hooks I made for Ashlin's room, so I wanted to try a couple to sell. This is what I came up with:
Shelf 1: Single Hooks
Shelf 2: Red, White and Black; Double Brass Hooks
