Mother Shirley's Jewelry Display Case

For Christmas, Tom and I decided his mom should have a Jewelry Display cabinet for her Craft Show Jewelry Sales. Tom worked on the box, I stained it a pretty Red Mahogany color and added a velvety pink backing in it. We used Plexi instead of glass as it is lighter to carry and less chance of breaking. I have a feeling we might be making more soon!

Virginia's Nail Polish Chest

 

Brandon wanted a Nail Polish Carry Case for his wife Virginia, so he asked Tom to make one for him to give her for Christmas. (Virginia is a cosmetologist.) Tom used Pine, Luann and Dowels to make this 3 door box. It was originally going to be stained in a Red Cherry color, but I ran out of stain and switched to a Dark Red Mahogany color. From now on I will stain the dowels before they are inserted into the boxes as I may be wearing the stain on my legs for a month. (I should wear long pants and not shorts too!) She may just need another one as it is almost full already!
